Equipment Reliability Mechanic – Pumps, Compressors & Conveyors

Picture this: a conveyor stalls and a compressor starts to underperform during peak demand. You step in—blueprints in hand, instructions from your Supervisor of Maintenance clear—and within hours the line is back at full speed. That’s the kind of impact you’ll make at our Ogden, UT site, working 100% onsite.

How you’ll respond when it matters

  1. Interpret drawings and receive oral/written instructions to plan the repair.
  2. Troubleshoot to pinpoint worn or defective components; perform visual inspections as part of predictive and preventive maintenance.
  3. Machine replacement parts on lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders; weld and fabricate as needed.
  4. Rebuild or repair pumps, valves, blowers, compressors, vessels, and conveyors; restore equipment to reliable operation.
  5. Update preventive maintenance records and adjust the lubrication program to prevent recurrence.

Your toolkit and environment

  • Hand tools (manual and power), material handling equipment, gas and electric arc welding equipment, and a full suite of machinist tools.
  • Process equipment exposure that can include acids, alkaline fiberglass, plastic and metal piping, fittings, and related materials.
  • Metal melting and fabrication equipment; lubricants such as oils and greases.

Teamwork and craftsmanship

  • Coordinate area activities with the central maintenance shop; partner with maintenance technicians and engineers.
  • Train other craftsmen as assigned and, at times, provide direction to lower-classified craftsmen.
  • Follow all safety rules; keep your work area orderly and return tools, unused materials, and written references to their designated locations.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of five (5) years in the mechanical craft, including three (3) years in mechanical industrial maintenance.
  • Applicable trade/technical school education in industrial mechanical maintenance may count toward part of the experience requirement.

Where you’ll work and report

This role is based in Ogden, UT, is 100% onsite, and reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance.
