Role Snapshot
Type: 1-year contract | Location: Denver, CO — Hybrid
Step onto site as the go-to leader for Base Capital Energy Supply initiatives across the PSCo region. From coal and gas stations to renewable generation facilities, you will guide complex capital projects and large-scale overhaul events (up to $100M) with an uncompromising focus on safety, quality, and schedule.
A Day in the Life
It’s 6:45 a.m. and the crew gathers for the pre-job huddle. You lead the conversation—hazards, LOTO/PPE, sequencing, access—and set priorities for the day. By mid-morning, you’re coordinating deliveries and laydown, reviewing field progress against drawings and the schedule, resolving issues with contractors, and aligning vendors with site logistics. After lunch, you walk inspections, verify hold/witness points, review NCRs and quality documentation, and update the team on progress and risk. Before heading out, you publish crisp daily reports and prep tomorrow’s plan.
What You’ll Drive
- Lead daily field operations to meet safety, quality, and schedule targets.
- Supervise contractors and vendors; coordinate site access, logistics, sequencing, and real-time issue resolution.
- Conduct safety briefings, enforce LOTO/PPE, identify hazards, and respond to incidents.
- Perform field quality inspections; ensure spec compliance; manage NCR documentation.
- Deliver clear daily/weekly progress reporting to project teams.
- Influence pre-construction: scope input, constructability reviews (30/60/90/IFC), and schedule development.
- Support estimating, bid reviews, vendor selection, and site logistics (laydown, access, equipment routes, utilities).
- Forecast and coordinate labor, equipment, and materials; stage resources efficiently.
- Identify schedule risks and execute mitigation and contingency plans.
- Coordinate inspections, witness/hold points, and pre-commissioning testing with QC teams.
- Lead daily huddles; track field progress against drawings and the master schedule.
- Oversee deliveries, on-site inventory, equipment utilization, and general housekeeping.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, weekly updates, and required safety/quality records.
What You Bring
- 5+ years in construction, maintenance, operations, engineering, or utility/power generation settings.
- Associate degree or technical degree.
- Hands-on knowledge of field construction and maintenance methods, materials, terminology, and inspection practices.
- Proficiency with utility/power-generation standards, procedures, and environmental/safety regulations.
- Strength in planning: crew sizing, duration estimating, and schedule development support.
- Familiarity with work packages, construction task planning, and work/asset management systems.
