A day in the life
You start your morning reviewing the service queue and planning parts with the Service Coordinator. By mid-morning, you’re on-site commissioning a Centac unit, validating parameters with precision measuring tools and confirming operation against the manuals. After lunch, a customer calls with an unplanned outage on a Turbo Air compressor—you read the wiring schematics, trace the fault, and implement a safe, lasting repair. You close the day documenting work orders, maintenance checklists, time sheets, and sharing recommendations that elevate the customer’s compressed air reliability.
What you’ll take on
- Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair centrifugal compressors (Centac and Turbo Air) and other compressed air system components.
- Provide hands-on technical assistance during pre-commissioning and start-ups to meet customer operating requirements.
- Interpret wiring diagrams and schematics; research complex issues and drive practical solutions.
- Complete work orders, preventive maintenance checklists, and daily time records with accuracy.
- Build strong customer relationships by proposing improved methods, techniques, and system enhancements.
- Promote Ingersoll Rand solutions—including Package CARE, Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits, and Leak Detection—to improve uptime and efficiency.
- Perform safety assessments in ever-changing environments; execute preventive maintenance and 47-point inspections on a range of compressors, refrigerated and desiccant dryers, and related components.
- Coordinate parts and supplies with operations teams to ensure timely installations and repairs.
- Communicate practices and policies to align with suppliers and external partners.
- Conduct basic vibration analysis and air quality troubleshooting.

- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including frequent use of hands/fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting/moving weights in line with safety policy.
