Production Systems Team Lead — Food & Beverage Manufacturing

Schedule: 3rd Shift | 11:00 pm – 7:00 am | Sunday–Thursday

Core responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and develop production and material handling staff; provide guidance and indirect supervision to shift maintenance support
  • Champion safety: enforce safe work practices, run audits, correct hazards, and conduct safety/job training
  • Translate work orders and product specifications into clear, actionable direction
  • Assign labor and allocate resources to meet the production schedule and service commitments
  • Spot-check quality and ensure adherence to specifications and quality procedures
  • Troubleshoot process, equipment, and material issues; lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Recommend and implement improvements to methods, equipment performance, product quality, and waste reduction
  • Coach performance, motivate the team, and interpret company rules and policies
  • Own shift documentation: production reports, work orders, safety/sanitation and quality records, finished goods tickets
  • Maintain timekeeping records and submit to Plant HR; coordinate staffing with HR
  • Communicate effectively with incoming/outgoing leaders; step in to perform frontline tasks when needed
  • Apply Lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen principles daily

Customer and compliance focus

  • Follow run-order specifications for each product
  • Comply with GMP and all food safety requirements
  • Engage in value-added activities that enhance products and processes

Qualifications we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Industrial Management a plus)
  • 5+ years in production supervision within manufacturing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and aptitude for learning new systems
  • Self-directed problem solver with a track record of rapid, durable solutions
  • Team-oriented leader who builds strong relationships across levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present to employees, customers, and suppliers
