Food Labeling & Regulatory Compliance Specialist

At Bridor North America in Salt Lake City, you’ll be the connective tissue between Quality, R&D, Sales, Marketing, and our external partners—turning complex rules into clear, compliant documentation.
About the Role
Your focus: ensure every finished product document—labels, specifications, and certifications—meets food safety and quality requirements for Canada, the United States, and export markets. You’ll guide new product development, facilitate market entry, and safeguard brand trust through meticulous technical work and thoughtful collaboration.
A Day in the Life
- Start by validating ingredient, allergen, and physical specifications against CFIA, FDA, and USDA frameworks for current and new items serving retail, foodservice, and industrial channels.
- Jump into change control: review and approve change requests, assessing compliance impacts and flagging risks early.
- Update technical files for co-packers and third-party manufacturers; ensure ERP records and customer portals reflect the latest data.
- Open Genesis to build accurate ingredient statements and nutrition facts; manage label templates and review packaging components against regulatory and client standards.
- Scrutinize claims—non-GMO, clean label, kosher—and confirm alignment across technical and marketing materials.
- Join an interdepartmental meeting as the regulatory voice; translate requirements into clear next steps for cross-functional partners.
- Track shifts in Canadian and international food regulations, proactively mitigating potential compliance gaps.
- Support audit readiness; maintain documentation required by customers and certification bodies.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate degree in Food Technology or equivalent
- 3–5 years in food regulatory affairs or a related compliance function
- Bilingual: English and Spanish (written and spoken)
- Working knowledge of CFIA, FDA, and USDA regulations

- Comfortable working both independently and on cross-functional teams
- Fluent in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Confident handling technical data in ERP and label software platforms
Preferred / Additional
- Bachelor’s in Food Science or related discipline
- Hands-on experience with Genesis and Bartender software
- Familiarity with BRCGS, FSMA, and other global food safety standards
- Ability to apply basic statistical analysis within technical documentation
