Do you like turning mechanical puzzles into smooth, repeatable runs? Are you meticulous with measurements and motivated by zero-defect quality? At MacLean‑Fogg in Mundelein, IL, you’ll operate and set up forming equipment to produce precision parts that serve the automotive and industrial sectors.

Your Mission

Own a cell, from set-up to final verification. You’ll dial in tooling and alignment, monitor cycle performance, and keep quality locked in—while documenting everything accurately and partnering with Quality and Maintenance to quickly resolve any issues.

Key Details

  • Location: On-site in Mundelein, Illinois
  • Shift: Train days (1st shift, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM) for 4–6 months; then run evenings (2nd shift, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM)
  • Pay: $23.00/hour to start; increases to $25.50/hour after training when on 2nd shift

FLSA Classification

  • Position Type: Full-Time (Non-Exempt)

Success Looks Like

  • Machines set correctly, tooling aligned, and throughput achieved
  • In-process and final inspections completed with micrometers, calipers, and visual checks
  • Minimal downtime through proactive monitoring and routine maintenance
  • Accurate production and inspection records in paper or electronic systems
  • Strong safety habits and a tidy, organized work area
  • Proactive collaboration with Quality and Maintenance to clear roadblocks fast

What You Bring

  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and resourceful troubleshooting
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints and production specifications

Must Haves

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Manufacturing or production experience
  • Physical readiness (lift up to 40 lbs; stand for long periods)
  • Willingness to work the designated shift and overtime as needed
  • Fundamental math and reading skills

Nice to Haves

  • Background with cold headers, hot formers, or similar forming machinery
  • Experience with 5S, lean, or continuous improvement
  • Metal forming or automotive manufacturing experience
