Custom Truck One Source (CTOS) is looking for a hands-on pro who loves turning bare chassis into working utility vehicles. As a Utility Truck Upfitting Specialist, you’ll build, wire, plumb, and fine-tune custom equipment that crews rely on every day.
A day in the shop
You roll in, review technical drawings and wiring schematics, plan your build, and get to work. By mid-morning you’ve set a PTO and pump, routed hydraulic lines, and verified electrical connections for lighting and accessories. After lunch, you fabricate a bracket, mount an aerial device, and troubleshoot a finicky circuit so everything performs flawlessly before final quality checks.
What you’ll work on
- Install utility bodies, cranes, aerial devices, accessories, and tool storage on commercial trucks.
- Build out mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems end-to-end.
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to execute precise installs.
- Fit PTOs, pumps, valves, hoses, hydraulic reservoirs, and lighting systems.
- Fabricate custom brackets/components to support unique builds.
- Diagnose and resolve installation issues; verify quality workmanship.
What you bring
- Background in truck upfitting, diesel repair, fabrication, heavy equipment, or similar trades.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical documents.
- Welding/fabrication experience is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and pride in detail.
