Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

The MultiCraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing production and manufacturing equipment throughout the facility.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment according to manufacturer specifications

• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and complete necessary repairs, adjustments, and installations

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical components, and building systems

• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs involving PLCs and electrical controls

• Perform multi-craft maintenance across a variety of plant equipment and respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner

• Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently to support the production of quality cut-to-length steel

• Maintain production output while meeting established scrap and rework standards

• Follow all safety procedures, including proper awareness of stored energy, pinch points, power sources, and equipment hazards

• Work collaboratively with the maintenance and production teams to support continuous improvement and maintain a world-class manufacturing environment

Qualifications

• Previous experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance

• Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment across multiple maintenance disciplines

• Basic working knowledge of PLCs and electrical controls

• Knowledge of machine functions, equipment safety hazards, power sources, stored energy, and pinch points

• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team-oriented environment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to heat, noise, gases, and chemicals

• Ability to frequently lift, climb, stand, walk, crouch, squat, bend, and kneel

• Must be able to safely perform physically demanding maintenance tasks throughout the facility

• Weekend and/or holiday work may be required based on production needs
