Make a hands-on impact from day one. At Frontrunner Bus Group in Billerica, MA, your morning starts at 6:00 a.m. on a clean, well-organized production floor. You’ll team up with experienced technicians to help build and service commercial buses that keep communities moving.

Role Snapshot

  • Department: Service – Production
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Experience Level: Entry Level
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional Saturdays
  • Pay: $22.00 per hour; might be eligible for an increase up to $25.00 per hour after 90 days

A Day in the Life

  • Partner with senior techs to install mechanical and electrical components on new or existing buses.
  • Use basic hand and power tools (wrenches, drills, sockets, torque tools) with care and accuracy.
  • Follow work instructions, diagrams, and safety procedures to complete quality installations.
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks to support production and service operations.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs under the guidance of experienced teammates.
  • Keep your station clean, organized, and safe.
  • Communicate progress, issues, and materials needs to supervisors.
  • Stay flexible and help with an extended shift when daily production goals require it.
  • Cross-train in other production stations to broaden your skills.

What You Bring

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Mechanical aptitude and genuine interest in working with tools.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems (preferred, not required).
  • Capability to lift or move components up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and prioritize safety and detail.

Preferred Background (Not Required)

  • Hands-on exposure from automotive, HVAC, carpentry, small engine repair, or similar fields.
  • Vocational training or coursework in mechanics, diesel technology, or automotive technology.
