Robotic Welding & Sheet Metal Fabrication Technician

Can you turn a solid model into a flawless welded assembly?

If you can read a blueprint, program a TRUMPF cell, and bring a Motoman YRC1000 back online after a fault, we’d love to talk. This role is the hub for automated and manual operations—cutting, sorting, stacking, bending (forming), punching, and robotic welding—so production starts on time and stays on target.

What problems will you solve?

  • How do we hit takt? You’ll manage KPIs—on-time delivery, quality, takt management, and machine utilization—adjusting parameters and programs to keep flow steady.
  • How do we fix fit-up? You’ll lead troubleshooting for part sensing, clamping, and weld sequence issues, partnering with Maintenance or vendors when needed.
  • How do we scale new work? You’ll program and validate new products and prototypes, performing parts analysis and time studies to lock in quality and repeatability.

Core responsibilities

  • Program, operate, and perform routine maintenance on assigned equipment; set up machining centers and navigate HMI controls.
  • Assist with loading parts/assemblies; restart equipment after malfunctions; execute minor repairs; log activities and maintain a clean, safe cell.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks; monitor processes and suggest improvements; support the production schedule.
  • Inspect machinery, troubleshoot minor errors, and report breakdowns promptly.
  • Train new employees and run training sessions for the team; facilitate operator preventive maintenance and communicate findings to Management and Maintenance.
  • Collaborate across Design Engineering, R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, and production supervision; communicate status to Line Lead and Production Supervisor; escalate technical issues to Technicians/Engineers.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and industry regulations; perform additional duties as assigned.
