Aegis is partnered with multiple growing machine shops and OEM manufacturers in the Wood Dale / Itasca area that are expanding production due to strong demand across aerospace, industrial equipment, custom machinery, and data center projects.
We are hiring experienced CNC Machinists and CNC Lathe Setup Machinists for multiple openings within high-mix, low-volume machining environments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform CNC lathe or mill setups independently
- Install tooling, jaws, and enter offsets
- Prove out jobs and perform first-piece inspections
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Make adjustments to maintain part quality and tolerances
- Support operators and troubleshoot machining issues
- Maintain inspection documentation and production records
Requirements:
- 3+ years CNC machining or setup experience
- Ability to independently set up CNC lathes or mills
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Experience using micrometers, gauges, and comparators
- High-mix / low-volume machining experience preferred
- Fanuc, Mazak, or Mazatrol experience is a plus
