**Pay Rate: $35.00 - $45.00

plus 5% Shift Differential

The Lead Pump Mechanic¨NBSP;has overall responsibility for the identification, development, and implementation of work scopes of the Pump Repair Shop. This position will be responsible for leading and mentoring a small team of pump mechanics.

**Essential Job Accountabilities:

**

  • Meets with shop superintendent for direction of workflow and communicates it to the employees on the shop floor.

  • Make sure that travelers requisitions are followed for each custom pump job.

  • Assign tasks to pump mechanics based on due dates to the customer.

  • Perform hands-on shop work and / or on-site disassembly, inspection, reporting, cleaning, and reassembly of pumps.

  • Oversee, train and mentor mechanics in the assembly and disassembly of pumps.

  • Assist management in developing solution-based work scopes/proposals that will demonstrate product value to new and existing customers to optimize revenue and profit of sales.

  • Provides technical support to customers and employees.

  • Assists with assuring that all QA/QC procedures are being followed.

  • Participate in production / sales meetings to inform management of status of the work on the floor.

  • Read and interpret blueprints for assembly, repair and reassembly.

  • Inform the shop superintendent when the jobs are complete and ready to ship back to the customer.

  • Perform daily and routine safety observations and inspections.

  • Maintain shop cleanliness and safety.

  • Fill in for the shop superintendent during their absence

**Requirements and Qualifications:

**

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in similar pump industry.

  • **Able to work independently performing pump service / maintenance activities with the ability to accurately take measurements, complete documentation, and reference proper standards / documentation to ensure quality artisanship.

**

  • **Experience repairing at least two of the following pump types; Multi-Stage BB4 and BB5, BB1, BB2, BB3 pumps

    **.

  • Field service experience a plus

  • Experience working in the steel or power industry.

  • **Familiar with ANSI/Hydraulic Institute and/or API codes and their applications

    **.

  • Good interpersonal skills for daily interaction with customers and fellow employees.

  • Analytic skills with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose systemic problems.

  • Able to use Microsoft Word and Outlook to generate service reports and communicate within the company including skills to navigate web-based service literature and programs.
