Founding BDR (SDR-to-AE Track)

About the Role

We're hiring a hungry Founding BDR to drive new business at an early-stage, pre-seed AI-powered HR tech startup. This is an SDR-to-AE track role — you'll start by building the outbound engine and graduate into closing deals as you prove yourself.

You'll drive mid-market and enterprise pipeline while helping build the playbook and continuing the company's rapid growth. As an early business hire, you'll work directly with the founding team to expand the company's footprint, shape the sales motion, and help build a world-class sales org.

We need people willing to grind — but also creative thinkers with high clockspeed who can implement time-saving structure and process, and generate new ideas that accelerate growth.

What You'll Do

  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound qualification and outbound outreach
  • Qualify prospects through consultative selling
  • Grow top of funnel through warm and cold outbound campaigns
  • Test and iterate on experimental marketing and go-to-market motions
  • Maintain accurate CRM data and pipeline hygiene on client relationships
  • Progress into a closing AE role as the sales org scales

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 1–5 years of experience as a top-performing SDR/BDR and/or AE at a high-velocity startup or in finance
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or beating quota, rapid promotions, and consistent top performance
  • Proven success with cold outbound prospecting — you've cold-outbounded your way into at least one incredible opportunity
  • Experience qualifying prospects through consultative selling and progressing opportunities toward close
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce or similar) and strong pipeline hygiene
  • Willingness to grow from a BDR into a closing AE role as the ramp and playbook mature
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

  • You've done something most people haven't — started a company, won a hackathon, or achieved something exceptional outside of work
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment with a bias for action and structure

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $110,000 – $140,000 annually
  • Commission on top of base salary
  • Equity with early-stage upside — join before the Series A
  • 10-person team; work directly with founders daily
  • Clear SDR-to-AE promotion path

Location

This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Francisco, CA. Candidates based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco are preferred. Visa sponsorship is not available.
