Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC and PLC-controlled equipment, as well as supporting facility and production operations. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical expertise, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and flexibility to support off-shift and on-call maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain all CNC and PLC-based equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
- Develop, implement, and document preventive maintenance programs for all equipment
- Diagnose and repair issues in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine appropriate repair procedures using technical manuals and schematics
- Assist with installation, setup, and startup of new equipment
- Fabricate parts and components from blueprints or technical drawings
- Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective components
- Perform facility maintenance, including roofing, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical distribution
- Install conduit, as well as water and air lines
- Move and install production equipment using proper rigging techniques
- Repair or replace refractory materials in slot-type furnaces
- Support both Maintenance and Engineering teams on various projects and initiatives
- Train and guide maintenance personnel on proper equipment care and maintenance procedures
- Take responsibility for assigned maintenance personnel and oversee job completion when required
- Participate in training programs and perform additional duties as needed
Work Conditions & Expectations
- Must be available for off-shift work, including nights and weekends as needed
- Required to be on-call and carry a company phone to respond to urgent maintenance needs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
Qualifications
- Strong background in industrial mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience with CNC and PLC equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Knowledge of rigging and equipment installation practices
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
