Material Flow & Logistics Specialist - Fraser, Michigan Temporary One-Month Assignment Pay Rate: $21.00-$22.00 per hour
Available Shifts : A Shift: Monday-Friday 6:00am to 2:00pm (OT/weekends are mandatory as scheduled) B Shift: Monday-Friday 2:00pm to 10:00pm (OT/weekends are mandatory as scheduled) C Shift: Sunday-Thursday 10:00pm to 6:00am (OT/weekends are mandatory as scheduled)
Position Summary of Material Flow & Logistics Specialist: The Material Flow & Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating the movement, storage, and distribution of materials throughout the supply chain and production environment. This role ensures efficient material flow, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery while supporting operational productivity, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities of Material Flow & Logistics Specialist:
Coordinate inbound and outbound material movement to support production schedules and customer requirements
Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate material tracking within ERP/WMS systems
Analyze material flow processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities
Collaborate with purchasing, production, warehousing, and transportation teams to ensure timely availability of materials
Schedule and oversee shipments with carriers, suppliers, and internal logistics teams
Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and shipping regulations
Support cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation activities
Develop and maintain logistics documentation, reports, and KPI dashboards
Assist in implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Resolve material shortages, shipping discrepancies, and logistics-related issues in a timely manner
Track logistics performance metrics including inventory accuracy, freight costs, delivery performance, and throughput efficiency
Participate in cross-functional planning meetings to support operational goals
Qualifications of Material Flow & Logistics Specialist:
High School Diploma required, Associate degree preferred
2 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, material planning, or supply chain coordination
Strong understanding of inventory control and material handling processes
Experience with ERP, MRP, or Warehouse Management Systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, FIFO principles, and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred
