Plastics Molding Equipment Technician

A day in the life

You arrive ready to bring precision and pace to a modern plastics operation. You set up molding equipment to spec, confirm parameters, run first-piece checks, and keep a watchful eye on production as it flows. When something drifts, you adjust. When routine care is due, you handle it. You inspect finished parts, keep materials stocked, and keep your area safe and orderly. Throughout the shift, you communicate clearly and pitch in where needed.

Core responsibilities

• Configure and run plastic molding machines following established procedures.
• Continuously monitor machine performance; fine-tune settings as needed.
• Complete routine maintenance to keep equipment operating at peak levels.
• Inspect finished products against quality standards and make necessary adjustments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly and safely.
• Track and replenish raw materials; alert your supervisor when supplies run low.
• Follow all safety protocols; sustain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with plastic molding machinery preferred.
• Solid grasp of plastics manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude; technical exposure to packaging, plastics, or printing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong manual dexterity and keen attention to detail.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Effective problem-solving abilities.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
