Role snapshot
- Location: Lexington, North Carolina (world-class passenger railcar manufacturing campus)
- Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:30am
- Impact: Enable safe, precise movement and shipment of rail vehicles within and out of the plant.
What youll do
- Coordinate and execute rail vehicle movements across the facility.
- Prepare flatcars and load rail vehicles onto flatcars or tractor trailers using defined procedures.
- Apply specialized rigging and tie-down methods to secure loads.
- Complete visual inspections and quality checks on equipment, rigging, and securement.
- Read blueprints; safely operate hand and power tools to exacting standards.
- Assist the lead technician with facility-wide special activities.
- Perform maintenance tasks from blueprints, parts lists, sketches, or verbal instructions for production, transportation, and facility equipment.
- Communicate effectively and follow directions with precision.
What youre great at
- High school diploma, state-recognized GED, or equivalent blend of education and experience.
- 1+ year of hands-on equipment operation.
- Proficiency in rigging practices and cargo securement techniques.
- Valid drivers license.
Physical requirements
- Comfort working in non-climate-controlled areas when needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and handle tools/materials.
- Frequent speaking; occasional odor detection.
- Lift/move up to 40 lbs.
- Vision: close and distance; color differentiation; peripheral; depth perception; ability to adjust focus.

- Base rate from $19/hr in Lexington, NC, plus 10% shift differential; compensation may vary based on budget and your experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
