Manufacturing Equipment Reliability Technician (Electro-Mechanical)

Join Alcon in Johns Creek, GA and keep world-class manufacturing equipment performing at its best. As a Manufacturing Equipment Reliability Technician, you’ll ensure uptime, quality, and safety across complex electro-mechanical systems that support our mission to help people see brilliantly.

Core responsibilities

  • Execute troubleshooting and repairs across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and controls domains.
  • Complete preventive and corrective maintenance; contribute to predictive and spare-parts programs.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance peers to resolve technical issues and coach others.
  • Restore used components to “as built” condition in the parts repair shop to drive cost avoidance.
  • Support equipment retrofits and upgrades; draft/revise SOPs and shop repair instructions.
  • Continuously improve equipment performance for quality, throughput, yield, and cost efficiency.
  • Assist with validation protocol execution and documentation.

Minimum requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in maintenance or equipment support.
  • Schedule: 36–48 hours/week; 6:30 PM–6:30 AM EST; 12-hour rotating night shift (2 nights on, 2 nights off, every other weekend).
  • Worksite: Onsite. Travel: 0%.
  • Sponsorship & Relocation: Not available.

Preferred background

  • Direct experience in machine maintenance and production equipment repair.
  • Technical schooling or equivalent training (e.g., manufacturing technology, electrical engineering).
