Your shift, your craft
Picture this: it’s Monday at 4:30 pm. You clock in, grab your PPE, review the evening’s priorities, and step up to a Press Brake, Shear, or Hot Melt machine. From Monday through Thursday, 4:30 pm to 3:00 am, you help transform panels into precision components that meet exacting standards.
How you’ll make an impact
As part of the Finishing team, you’ll contribute to quality, safety, and continuous improvement every night. You’ll progress through clear skill tiers, growing from helper to main finisher and mentor.
Level 1 Finisher — Build your foundation
- Support operations on Press Brakes, Shears, or Hot Melt equipment as a helper.
- Assist main Finishers with shearing panels, bending edges, and pouring polyamide.
- Use a measuring tape and calipers confidently; perform math with fractions, decimals, multiplication, and addition.
- Conduct visual inspections to verify product quality.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and adjust your schedule as priorities shift.
- Pitch in on tasks at equal or lower job grades as needed to support the department.
- Consistently champion Fenner Precision Polymers values and behaviors.
Level 2 Finisher — Own the machine
- Demonstrate proficiency in all Level 1 responsibilities.
- Run a Press Brake, Shear, or Hot Melt Machine as the main Finisher, determining correct setups and machine parameters to ensure quality parts.
- Direct your helper clearly and communicate the assistance needed.
- Assist and train Level I Finishers and those progressing toward Level II.
- Uphold Fenner Precision Polymers values and behaviors.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Level 3 Finisher — Lead with expertise
- Preset and set up all Press Brakes, Shears, and Hot Melt Machines promptly; serve as the main Finisher across equipment.
- Understand, comply with, and actively help establish ISO standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Participate in LEAN and world-class improvement initiatives.
- Coach and train Level I and Level II Finishers.
- Model Fenner Precision Polymers values and behaviors.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Schedule
2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:30 pm – 3:00 am
What you bring
- High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months of related experience/training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Environmental, Health & Safety expectations
- Learn and follow EHS policies, rules, and work instructions.
- Attend required EHS training.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Take responsibility for the safety of yourself, co-workers, and visitors by participating in or conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections, corrective actions, and safety observations.
- Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions/acts, and other hazards. STOP WORK if imminent danger is present.
- Keep your work area orderly and equipment in proper working condition.
