Shift: Second Shift, 4x10 schedule
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM – 1:30 AM
We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator to support second-shift manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for setting up and running CNC lathes to produce precision metal and plastic components to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, high-mix environment.
Set up CNC lathe machines using provided programs, tooling, and job documentation
Install tooling and fixtures efficiently while meeting required setup and cycle times
Create tooling layouts and select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and soft jaws
Edit programs as needed to improve efficiency and ensure part quality
Perform tool changes, offsets, and minor program adjustments
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and sketches
Use precision measuring tools to inspect parts and verify conformance to specifications
Maintain responsibility for the quality of your own work throughout the production process
Troubleshoot setup and machining issues to minimize downtime
Minimum of 5 years of CNC Lathe setup experience in a lead or advanced setup role
Strong understanding of CNC lathe operations, tooling, and setup optimization
Proficient with precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent changeovers
