Deputy Facilities & Reliability Manager (Distribution Center)

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

A day in this role

You start your shift on the distribution center floor, opening the CMMS dashboard to scan overnight work orders and downtime reports. A quick huddle with maintenance leads sets priorities: a conveyor PM, a dock leveler repair, and a controls fault that needs a root-cause deep dive. After a brief safety walk—checking LOTO compliance, housekeeping, and ergonomic setups—you coordinate vendor arrival for a critical parts delivery and confirm hot work permits are in place for an afternoon weld. Midday, you coach a technician through a predictive check on automation gear, update KPIs, and escalate a building HVAC issue. Before handoff, you validate PM completion, adjust spare parts min/max, and align with operations on response times and next-shift coverage.

What you’ll own

  • Lead day-to-day maintenance activity for material handling systems, conveyors, dock equipment, building systems, utilities, and grounds to ensure safe, reliable operation in a fast-paced DC.
  • Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective work: set daily priorities, assign tasks, track completion, and escalate equipment or facility concerns.
  • Drive CMMS accuracy and KPI health by monitoring downtime, PM compliance, parts usage, and trends; support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Provide front-line leadership to maintenance supervisors, leads, technicians, vendors, and support partners; reinforce expectations and assist with shift coverage.
  • Coach and grow technical capability through hands-on training, cross-training, and performance feedback.
  • Champion a safe, compliant, and audit-ready environment: OSHA standards, lockout/tagout, hot work, powered industrial equipment, contractor safety, housekeeping, and ergonomic practices. Assist with inspections, hazard follow-up, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate vendors, service requests, parts inventory, repair priorities, and small projects; provide timely updates and reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

What you bring

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, facilities, reliability, manufacturing, distribution center, automated warehousing, or similar industrial setting.
  • 1+ year of lead, supervisory, project coordination, or shift leadership experience preferred, guiding technicians, contractors, vendors, or cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on familiarity with a CMMS, preventive maintenance coordination, troubleshooting, spare parts control, and documenting work activity preferred.
