Mechanical Process Manufacturing Engineer

Shape How the World Connects

Join the global leader in cable and connectivity systems. Prysmian designs and manufactures underground and submarine power transmission solutions, medium- and low-voltage products for infrastructure and construction, and a full portfolio of optical fiber, copper, and connectivity technologies for telecom. With 30,000 colleagues in 50+ countries, you will make an impact on how energy and information move around the planet.

A Day in the Life

You arrive at the line with a fresh DOE plan, walk the floor with operators, and tune process parameters to squeeze out waste without sacrificing quality. By mid-morning you are troubleshooting a tooling deviation, collaborating with maintenance and production to get capability back on track. After lunch, you validate a new fixture set-up for an upcoming product launch and finalize the documentation that will carry the process through scale-up. Before you leave, you review OEE, scrap, and cycle-time dashboards and log the next set of Kaizen actions.

What You’ll Own

  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, cut waste, and elevate product quality.
  • Partner with production teams to select and implement the best manufacturing methods and technologies.
  • Develop and optimize process parameters, tooling, fixtures, and equipment set‑ups for stable, repeatable output.
  • Lead manufacturing readiness for new product launches, including process development, validation, and documentation.
  • Benchmark industry best practices and introduce advanced manufacturing techniques where they add value.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute improvement projects from concept through implementation.
  • Provide hands‑on support for daily production issues—troubleshooting equipment, tooling, and process deviations.
  • Deliver measurable gains in productivity, scrap reduction, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Build strong cross‑functional relationships to align on production priorities and goals.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Enable operator success by developing clear work instructions, SOPs, and process control methods.
