Picture your day: walking the floor with operators, spotting hazards before they become incidents, coaching supervisors, tuning training plans, and partnering with engineering to reduce risk at the source. You’ll own OSHA recordkeeping and environmental compliance while cultivating a proactive, behavior-based safety culture.

Location & Work Arrangement

This is a full-time, on-site role at our St. Charles, Illinois facility.

Bilingual candidates encouraged: fluency in Spanish (speak, read, and write) is preferred.

What you’ll lead

  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Drive a proactive, behavior-based safety culture; plan and conduct audits; investigate incidents; implement corrective and preventive actions; deliver training and onboarding; maintain OSHA 300/301 logs and align with regulatory updates; coach leaders and teams; convene and guide safety committees.
  • Environmental Programs: Ensure compliance across air, wastewater, stormwater, and solid/hazardous waste; manage permits, reporting, and submissions to state and federal agencies; analyze environmental data (emissions, water, soil) to target improvements; partner with engineering and operations on pollution reduction projects; act as primary liaison to regulators and external partners; oversee on-site wastewater systems, waste classification, and documentation.
  • Training & Culture Building: Deliver and refresh courses on Lockout/Tagout, PPE and hazard communication, machine guarding, ergonomics, and emergency response; engage employees through committees and continuous improvement.
  • Risk Reduction & Continuous Improvement: Identify hazards related to plastics processing equipment, robotics/automation, compressed air systems, and material handling/resins; help implement engineering and administrative controls; track KPIs and support improvement projects.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Support emergency planning and drills covering fire safety, evacuation, spill response, and medical emergencies; coordinate response teams.

What you bring

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred; 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing; background in plastics, injection molding, blow molding, or industrial manufacturing strongly preferred; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Certifications (preferred): CHST, ASP, or similar; First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • Skills: Deep knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations; incident investigation and root cause analysis expertise; ability to influence at all levels; excellent documentation/organizational skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
