We are looking for a Diesel Field Service Technician to report to our Fort Mill, SC location and service our Diesel Pumps at various Xylem and Customer sites in the surrounding area.
**What your day will look like as a Diesel Field Service Technician **
The Diesel Field Service Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our diesel pumps and their corresponding electrical and mechanical components at various customer sites and Xylem Service Centers in the Fort Mill, SC area, as well as proving phone support when applicable. Equipment specific training will be provided, but applicants with previous experience working with diesel, mechanical, and electrical equipment are especially encouraged to apply.
This position has general day shift hours with overtime opportunities and a compensated on-call rotation with occasional afternoons/weekends.

**Position Requirements for Diesel Field Service Technicians **
High school Diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license with good driving record- Class B CDL preferred
Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR check, and DOT physical
Experience working with diesel systems, or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
General diesel engine component location and identification
Basic mechanical aptitude
Ability to diagnose basic mechanical problems
General DC electric and circuit testing skills
Knowledge of and adherence to safety practices and procedures
Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues--preferred
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing
