IT Security Specialist
Job Summary
The IT Security Specialist is responsible for safeguarding the organization’s IT infrastructure, networks, systems, and data against cyber threats and security breaches. The role involves day-to-day security operations, firewall and intrusion prevention management, endpoint protection, vulnerability assessments, and implementation of security controls to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Role responsibilities:
§ Maintenance and perform day-to-day operational tasks on Perimeter and Datacenter Firewalls
§ Maintenance and Administration of Intrusion Prevention Systems
§ Make sure IPS systems are properly updated
§ Administration of VPN both user and tunnels
§ Trouble shooting network related problems
§ Maintenance and Administration of corporate proxy
§ Maintenance and Administration of Trend Micro Office Scan
§ Maintenance and Administration of Data Leakage Prevention (DLP)
§ Make sure all corporate Desktops and Servers are properly updated
§ Perform Application and Network security assessments
§ Designing and implementing safety measures and controls
§ Monitoring network activity to identify vulnerable points
§ Acting on privacy breaches and malware threats
§ Analyze IT specifications to assess security risks
§ Design and implement safety measures and data recovery plans
§ Install, configure and upgrade security software (e.g. antivirus programs)
§ Secure networks through firewalls, password protection and other systems
§ Inspect hardware for vulnerable points of access
Qualifications
§ Bachelors in Information Technology or Relevant.
§ Relevance will be reviewed and confirmed by ISD in line with technical competencies of applicant.
Experiences
§ Overall 5 years’ experience in similar skill set
§ The candidate should have satisfactory Experience in IT security Domain.
§ Excellent communication skills (oral & written) in English. Arabic is preferred.
§ The ideal candidate will have experience administration and troubleshooting on Next Generation Firewalls (Cisco FTD, Fortigate etc.), Intrusion Prevention Systems, VPN, Bluecoat Proxy and TrendMicro Antivirus, Data Leakage Prevention (DLP).
§ Experienced in implementing software and configuration changes across enterprise systems.
§ Experienced in installation, setup, configuration, and maintenance of software and user devices.
Skills
§ Working knowledge in: HTTP Protocol, Network security including LAN / WAN security, TCP/IP Protocol, Unix / Wins security, Firewalls Intrusion
§ Experience in configuration and Administration of Next Generation Firewall
§ Willingness to learn new technologies if required
§ Experience in configuring and Administration of IPS systems
§ Monitoring and analyzing network traffic and IDS alerts
§ Experience in configuring and Administration of VPN
§ Experience in configuring and Administration of Trend Micro Office scan
§ Experience in Administer and Manage Proxy server
§ Experience in Administer and Manage Data Leakage Prevention (DLP)
