A day in the life
You start your morning in a quick production huddle with key shop personnel, aligning capacity and priorities. You review incoming RFQs, build quotes in JobBOSS, and validate pricing on existing orders before acceptance. Midday, you coordinate with ownership on production and quality standards, refine the production schedule, and ensure equipment is deployed efficiently and maintained proactively. Throughout the week, you drive sales opportunities through networking, coach team members to elevate performance, and document continuous improvement wins—all while ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies.
What you'll own
- Use JobBOSS (or equivalent ERP) to create quotes, launch jobs, and track them through completion
- Generate new business via networking and strategic positioning
- Partner with owners to define/maintain production and quality benchmarks
- Build accurate, competitive quotes that reflect true costs and protect profitability
- Lead weekly production meetings and keep stakeholders aligned
- Coordinate organizational needs, equipment utilization, and maintenance plans with ownership
- Provide clear leadership and coaching; foster trust, teamwork, accountability, confidence, and business ownership
- Identify, document, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Verify pricing on current orders prior to acceptance
- Create and manage a reliable production schedule
- Ensure operations adhere to all applicable regulations and internal policies
What you'll bring
- 2+ years with JobBOSS ERP (or similar ERP/MRP)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and related documentation
- Sales operations experience: quoting, customer support, and bridging sales-to-production
- Proven ability to supervise and motivate team members
- Uncompromising commitment to quality and high standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Working knowledge of your team’s day-to-day tasks
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Effective priority and workflow management
- Adaptability and enthusiasm in fast-changing priorities
- Self-directed and dependable
- Familiarity with financial processes is a plus
- Willingness to work extended hours when needed
- Demonstrated leadership and people skills
- Track record of juggling multiple projects and hitting deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills; communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Sound judgment with timely, well-reasoned decisions
