Help us deliver precision packaging by running and maintaining a Heidelberg sheetfed offset press while upholding Snyder’s safety and quality standards.

Your impact

  • 80%: Make-ready and operate the Heidelberg offset press to Snyder Pkg. quality benchmarks.
  • 10%: Hang/position plates; set ink and fountain solution levels; execute core offset press tasks.
  • 5%: Enter production data; complete required forms.
  • 5%: Clean, service, and perform routine maintenance on the press.

What you’ll do

  • Read job layouts and translate specifications into press settings.
  • Prepare the press for production: plates, ink/water balance, registration, and substrate checks.
  • Run production and perform pre-determined pull checks for color, registration, and defects.
  • Troubleshoot print, mechanical, and setup issues swiftly to sustain throughput.
  • Document operating conditions and maintenance; submit maintenance requests as needed.
  • Carry out additional duties and priorities from the supervisor and plant manager.
  • Consistently adhere to Snyder’s safety procedures and quality requirements.

Minimum qualifications

  • Experience operating offset printing equipment; strong color vision.
  • Foundational shop math (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Intermediate English communication (read/write/listen/speak).
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, typing, and printing.
  • Measurement fluency, including accurate ruler reading.

  • Mechanical aptitude and a practical mindset.
  • Ability to spot print defects quickly.
  • Resourceful problem solving.
  • Understanding of printing, die cutting, and gluing workflows.

Physical demands

  • Manual loading and some climbing while operating semi-automatic equipment.
  • Active, varied tasks with repetitive and intermittent motions.
  • Requires strength and good eyesight.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work environment

General warehouse environment within a paperboard packaging facility; frequent reaching, bending, and lifting are part of the role.
