Picture your morning walk across a busy coatings plant where customers count on flawless delivery. You start by checking overnight KPIs and a few abnormals. A cross functional huddle follows, where you coach teams on root cause rigor and prevention first thinking. Before lunch, you review an APQP gate for a new product, fine tune a control plan, and confirm GR&R data meets expectations. Your afternoon wraps with a supplier call on a SCAR, ensuring their QMS aligns with NPAA requirements and that corrective actions get to true root cause.

What You Will Own

  • Champion a site wide quality culture through clear communication, visible ownership and accountability, and hands on education
  • Own the QMS as site lead for internal and external requirements, including customer specific requirements, customer audits, internal auditing, ISO9001 and IATF16949 certification maintenance, calibration, GR&R and MSA, PPAP, APQP, controlled document management, and management review, leveraging both your team and partners across departments
  • Engage early in new product introductions to ensure quality assurance and control plan adjustments are in place before mass production
  • Monitor and socialize key quality KPIs and lead effective teams to investigate systemic issues and implement durable countermeasures for metrics such as Cost of Quality, Non Conforming Material Generation, Abnormals, Customer Complaints, and Expired or Off Spec Inventory Management
  • Strengthen sub supplier performance by participating in sub supplier QMS audits, confirming alignment with NPAA requirements and quality standards, and overseeing the SCAR process from initial investigation findings through effective root cause determination and countermeasure implementation
  • Interpret and enforce company policy and practices consistently while holding others to standards
  • Lead people and processes: hiring, training, promotions, performance management, and setting departmental goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field preferred
  • 10 plus years of experience preferred in the automotive coatings industry across Technical, Quality, or Operations roles Quality preferred
  • Previous supervisor experience required
  • Proven project management track record and the ability to drive business process improvements across multiple departments
  • Hands on experience with compliance to standards such as ISO9001 and IATF16949
  • Lead auditor background preferred
  • Demonstrated problem solving to support customer complaint RCA and experience with continuous improvement and kaizen

Compensation

$89,985.14 to $149,403.00 annually. Compensation for this role is negotiable based on experience and skill set.
