Heavy Forklift Operator

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in Houston, TX, 77073. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and logistics processes. Responsibilities

• Operate heavy forklifts to move, lift, and stack materials safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring accurate inventory management.
• Conduct regular inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and productivity.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory and equipment usage.
• Assist in training new operators on safe and efficient forklift operation.
• Be open to learning other skills, and moving departments in the future.
• Paint, grind, phosphate, cold rolling, and deburr metal parts.
• Learn to operate overhead cranes, and other machinery.
• General housekeeping duties in the warehouse.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
• Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks as required.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Must be willing to learn
• Technical aptitude
• Operate a forklift and crane – Training will be provided
• Load and unload trucks
• Move tools on and off racks
• Painting
• Grinding
• General cleanup of the shop and yard
• Surface Finishing (Shot Peen, Cold Roll, Phosphating)
• Other duties as assigned
