Industrial High-Voltage Maintenance Electrician (Facilities & Machinery)

Ashland, Kentucky | Permanent Direct Hire | In-House Maintenance Team

Mural is partnering with a global industrial equipment manufacturer and service company to expand the electrical maintenance capability of its heavy industrial service center in Ashland, KY. This site repairs and refurbishes large-scale equipment for steel producers across North America, and it’s building a robust internal electrical program to keep complex machines and facility systems running at their best.

A day in the role

You start by reviewing the preventive maintenance plan you built for the week—tasks across large-format CNC machinery, heavy welding systems, and multiple overhead cranes. You inspect, test, and document. Mid-morning, an operations lead flags a building issue: an outdoor panel keeps tripping. You head to the yard, open the switchgear, trace from distribution panels to the MCC, diagnose, correct, and return the line to service. In the afternoon, you finish PMs and update schedules so breakdowns become the rare exception—not the norm.

Impact you’ll have

  • Own preventive maintenance across industrial equipment: plan, schedule, and execute PMs for CNCs, heavy welding systems, and overhead crane systems.
  • Serve as the in-house authority for facility power: outdoor switchgear, distribution panels, circuit breakers, and building-level electrical challenges.
  • Troubleshoot confidently from MCCs to field devices, resolving issues without defaulting to outside contractors.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of electrical maintenance experience in industrial or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Comfort working at high voltage—480V three-phase and above—with hands-on experience in MCC panels, switchgear, and plant distribution systems.
  • A preventive mindset: you create PM schedules and carry them through, not just react to downtime.
  • NFPA 70E knowledge and strong lockout/tagout habits—safety is your constant.
  • Versatility across both machine-level and building-level electrical systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; journeyman electrician background is a plus, not a requirement.
