Strategic Programs Delivery Manager

Strategic Programs Delivery Manager

Picture your week starting with a high-stakes steering committee: you’re guiding a cross-functional coalition through a multi-phase, multimillion-dollar initiative. The work spans engineering, manufacturing, installation, and integration—and you’re the connective tissue. As a senior individual contributor, you translate strategy into execution, keep risk visible and controlled, and make sure outcomes match business expectations on programs typically ranging from 20–70M in scope.

In this role, you lead by influence rather than authority. You build trust with customers and internal stakeholders, align priorities, and keep complex efforts moving—on time, on budget, and to spec. You thrive in ambiguity, operate confidently in high-stakes moments, and set the bar for delivery excellence.

What You’ll Own

Program Leadership

  • Drive end-to-end execution of complex, cross-functional projects and programs, aligning scope, schedule, budget, and quality with organizational strategy.
  • Develop and maintain integrated plans: scope baselines, phased schedules, budgets, resource strategies, and risk registers.
  • Select and adapt project management methodologies to fit program scale, complexity, and business needs.

Governance and Risk

  • Establish governance structures that meet organizational standards and reporting requirements.
  • Continuously identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate critical items promptly to protect delivery.
  • Ensure disciplined adherence to processes, tools, and assurance routines.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the trusted point of contact for status, risks, and decisions with customers, executives, and delivery teams.
  • Facilitate clear communication across internal and external partners; influence decisions using data-driven insights and structured analysis.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across teams.

Planning and Coordination

  • Support portfolio and program planning, prioritization, and sequencing.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources to align milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Track performance and implement improvements to enhance predictability and outcomes.

Knowledge Sharing

  • Codify and contribute to project management best practices and standards.
  • Capture and circulate lessons learned; champion continuous improvement.
  • Provide informal mentoring to junior project managers and team members.

About You

  • 8+ years of progressive project management experience, including 3+ years in a senior or lead capacity.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; adept at leading without direct supervisory authority.
  • Hands-on experience building detailed schedules across engineering, manufacturing, installation, and integration activities.
  • Fluent in budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, risk management, and contract coordination.
  • Proficient with MS Project, Smartsheet, and SAP.
  • Knowledge of the material handling industry is a plus.
