What You’ll Do
- Diagnose and repair in the field and at the service center across utility trucks and specialty equipment.
- Use manuals and repair orders to guide work; connect a laptop to perform diagnostic testing.
- Identify and resolve LMI (Load Moment Indicator) and CAN bus (Controller Area Network) issues.
- Execute electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and component repairs.
- Perform inspections and road tests to verify repairs meet CTOS quality standards.
- Complete accurate inspection reports, repair orders, timecards, and track parts costs.
- Tag all warranty and core parts for return processing.
- Escalate scope changes, unnecessary work, or timing risks to the Service Manager promptly.
- Follow all CTOS safety requirements and attend required safety training.
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations for hazardous waste.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to minimize downtime and elevate satisfaction.
- Travel overnight as needed and flex beyond your normal coverage area based on business need.
- Support Service Manager initiatives; take on additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED.
- ~5 years of related shop and field experience.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL Class B a plus) and your own mechanics tools.
- Strong documentation habits using software; reliable with schedules and deadlines.
Preferred
- Electrical, hydraulic, welding, and ability to read schematics/blueprints.
- Experience with Quick Serve, DTNA, or similar OEM diagnostic software.
- Familiarity with DOT, ANSI, and dielectric testing.
