Trade Counter Sales Consultant (Restoration & Janitorial Supplies)

Your day at a glance

Doors open, lights up, and you’re the first friendly face our walk‑in customers meet. You listen, ask smart questions, and guide them to the right products—often demonstrating how they work. Orders and returns are processed with precision, cash and credit payments are handled by the book, and deposits are prepared according to established procedures. Between customer conversations, you keep the showroom and counter spotless and welcoming, and you restock both the sales floor and the stockroom so everything is easy to find.

You’re quick to reply when inquiries come in—by phone, email, or in person—and you coordinate with teammates across departments to keep operations smooth. On class days, you pitch in with setup and cleanup for educational sessions, place courtesy calls to attendees, and, as directed, follow up on past‑due accounts. You’re comfortable switching between English and Spanish, composing a clear Outlook email, and updating a simple Excel sheet—all while staying organized in a fast‑moving environment. Lifting and carrying 50 lbs. regularly is part of how you help keep things moving.

What you’ll do

  • Warmly greet and assist walk‑in customers with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Provide product information, tailored recommendations, and hands‑on demonstrations.
  • Accurately process sales orders, returns, and transactions with strong attention to detail.
  • Handle cash and credit payments; prepare deposits following standard procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming showroom and counter area.
  • Stock shelves in the showroom and stockroom as needed.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Support sales and marketing by assisting with educational classes (setup and cleanup).
  • Make courtesy calls to class attendees and follow up on past‑due accounts as directed.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • 2+ years of customer service or counter sales experience (preferred).
  • Experience in janitorial, restoration, remediation, carpet cleaning, or installation (a plus).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (strongly preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Cash handling and basic accounting experience (a plus).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to multitask in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Compensation

Pay range: $22.00 – $25.63
