We are actively hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic in Panama City, FL to support a fleet of heavy-duty vehicles. This is a long-term opportunity for a dependable technician who takes pride in diagnostics, repairs, and keeping equipment running efficiently.
Experience working on garbage trucks or heavy-duty fleet vehicles is a plus, but not required.
What You’ll Be Doing:Perform diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on diesel-powered fleet vehicles. Work with emissions systems including EGR, DEF, and aftertreatment systems. Schedule and manage preventative maintenance to ensure fleet reliability. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and complete repairs efficiently. Maintain accurate service records and ensure all work meets safety standards. Manage daily shop operations, including workflow, tools, and organization. Support uptime by prioritizing critical repairs and minimizing downtime. Communicate with management on fleet condition, repair needs, and timelines. Follow all safety policies and industry best practices.
What We’re Looking For:3+ years of diesel mechanic experience required. Certified diesel mechanic or equivalent experience preferred. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, emissions systems (EGR/DEF), and heavy-duty truck components. Ability to work independently and manage shop responsibilities. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Must be reliable and available for on-call work as needed.
