If you said “yes,” here’s what you’ll do:
- Prepare and process air-related samples using established techniques (weighing, ashing, filtering).
- Operate laboratory instruments following standard procedures and best practices.
- Capture, organize, and review data to help ensure accuracy and traceability.
- Follow safety guidelines consistently and support a tidy, well-run lab.
- Collaborate with teammates and adapt as priorities shift.
Must-haves
- High school diploma (associate degree preferred).
- Basic familiarity with sample preparation steps such as weighing, ashing, and filtering.
- Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Attention to detail, a proactive approach, and effective communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience operating laboratory instruments or performing equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of NIOSH methodologies (0500, 0600, 7500).
- Experience in analytical or environmental testing.
Education and exposure
- High school diploma is required; an associate degree and relevant experience are a plus.
- Prior exposure to sample preparation or lab procedures is beneficial but not necessary.
