Aegis is partnered with a stable, production-driven manufacturing organization that specializes in machining and assembly of precision metal components serving automotive and heavy industrial markets. This facility operates in a safety-focused environment with strong emphasis on uptime, quality performance, and continuous improvement.
They are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to support plant quality systems, lead corrective action initiatives, and partner closely with production and engineering teams.
This role offers strong ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to impact quality performance in a high-volume machining environment.
Manage non-conforming material processes and disposition activities
Lead root cause analysis and corrective / preventive action initiatives
Develop and submit PPAP documentation for new and existing programs
Participate in APQP activities using AIAG core tools
Conduct internal audits supporting ISO and IATF quality systems
Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T for inspection methods
Track and analyze quality metrics such as scrap, defects, and customer complaints
Collaborate with manufacturing, materials, and engineering teams to improve processes
Support continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma methodologies
3–5+ years Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing
Experience in CNC machining, automotive, or metal fabrication environments
Strong experience with PPAP, APQP, and AIAG core tools
GD&T interpretation skills
ISO audit experience (IATF preferred)
Six Sigma certification or experience (minimum Yellow Belt)
Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
Ideal background: Tier 1 / Tier 2 automotive suppliers, CNC machining operations, metal manufacturing environments.
