Software Engineer (Full Stack, Backend-Leaning)

About the Role

Join a seed-stage, Y Combinator-backed regtech startup building AI agents that automate Anti-Money Laundering and KYC operations for banks and fintechs. The platform already handles real KYC/AML workflows for customers across the US, EU, MENA, and Japan. As a full stack engineer with a backend lean, you'll work directly with the founding team in London to scale core infrastructure and ship product rapidly.

What You'll Do

• Own core AI agent infrastructure, API systems, and integrations with KYC/AML platforms used by banks and fintechs.
• Ship features quickly and make meaningful architectural decisions to scale production systems.
• Collaborate closely with founders and cross-functional teammates to deliver end-to-end product releases.
• Work within a serverless stack using JavaScript/TypeScript on AWS, with strong CI/CD practices.
• Ensure security, auditability, and compliance across workflows at scale.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 1–5 years of experience building production systems.
• Strong proficiency in at least one of: AWS, JavaScript/TypeScript, or React.
• Experience working at a startup or in a small, fast-moving team.
• Familiarity with serverless architectures and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong computer science fundamentals — demonstrated through top-tier education, experience at competitive tech companies, or proven startup contributions.

Nice to Have:

• Industry experience in fintech, financial services, AML/KYC, or regtech.
• React experience beyond the basics.
• Background at companies operating in compliance, risk, or financial infrastructure.

Compensation & Benefits
