Platform Engineer
About the Role
A fast-growing, seed-funded enterprise AI SaaS company based in Berlin is looking for a Platform Engineer to help build and maintain the backbone of their enterprise AI platform. This is a full-time, on-site role where you'll drive deployment, automation, and secure operations across customer cloud environments — working closely with customer IT teams to enable scalable AI deployments.
What You'll Do
- Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment
- Deploy and maintain the platform across multiple customer cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure, OpenShift)
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep)
- Monitor and optimize application performance and infrastructure costs
- Ensure security and compliance across diverse cloud environments
- Collaborate with Product Engineers to support new feature deployments
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues
- Document deployment processes and maintain runbooks for different environments
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on platform engineering work
- Experience deploying and operating an enterprise platform across Azure, AWS, GCP, and OpenShift
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Azure Container Apps, and GitHub Actions
- Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis in production environments
- Native-level German or B2 proficiency — essential for customer-facing communications
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with customer IT teams and cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to implement security best practices and ensure platform reliability in cloud deployments
- Solid computer science fundamentals
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools including Bicep
- Background working with enterprise customers in regulated or compliance-heavy environments
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $75,000 – $120,000 USD annually
- Visa sponsorship available
Location
This is a fully on-site role based in Berlin, Germany. Candidates must be able to work from the Berlin office.
