CAM and Machining Process Development Engineer (Mastercam)

Own the processes that turn advanced composites and high-performance plastics into precision parts. You’ll be the go-to partner for machinists and quality to eliminate bottlenecks, stabilize cycles, and launch new product work successfully at our Northbrook, IL facility.

What You Will Do

  • Be the first line of engineering support on the production floor
  • Diagnose and resolve machining, quality, tooling, and fixturing issues
  • Develop best-in-class CNC processes; build and refine Mastercam programs
  • Design practical workholding and fixtures that boost repeatability
  • Lead root-cause analyses; implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Create setup sheets, work instructions, and process standards
  • Shepherd NPI from prototype to stable production
  • Validate equipment, run capability studies, and drive continuous improvement
  • Identify manufacturing risks and implement data-driven solutions

Bring This Experience

  • 5+ years in Manufacturing Engineering or CNC Programming
  • Solid understanding of CNC machining fundamentals
  • Mastercam (or similar CAM) expertise
  • Fluent with drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and inspection practices
  • Track record troubleshooting manufacturing and quality issues
  • Clear communicator and collaborative problem-solver
  • Thrives on-site in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Nice to Have

  • Machining experience with plastics, composites, or engineered materials
  • Vericut (or similar) simulation exposure
  • Fixture design and workholding development background
  • Renishaw probing and machine calibration
  • Lean/CI methodologies
  • 4- and 5-axis machining exposure
  • Process validation, capability studies, and statistical analysis
  • NPI and production launch support

  • On-site | Northbrook, IL
  • Full-time | Monday–Friday | Day shift

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $125,000–$150,000 (DOE)
