Make precision that matters
Step into a shift where your setups and measurements directly shape medical implants. We will train motivated operators who are ready to grow on Star Swiss-type lathes and master tight-tolerance work.
A day in the role
You begin at your Star CNC Swiss machine: verify tools, load material, call up the program, and complete first-piece verification. Through the day you make fine offset tweaks, perform tool changes, and document each run while partnering with engineering and quality to refine cycle times and surface finishes. You finish by completing P.M. tasks and leaving a spotless, 5S-aligned workstation.
What you’ll handle
- Independently set up, run, and troubleshoot Star CNC Swiss machines to produce precision medical implants.
- Maintain tight tolerances via wear-offset adjustments, tool changes, and on-the-fly process corrections.
- Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions to meet customer specifications.
- Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators to validate results.
- Perform routine and daily preventative maintenance (P.M.) on assigned equipment.
- Document production: first-piece inspection logs, maintenance records, and work orders.
- Apply strict quality control including ID and full traceability protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality to optimize machining processes and tooling.
- Keep the area clean, safe, and organized following 5S practices.
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
- At least 1 year of blueprint reading experience.
- At least 1 year applying GD&T and measuring tolerances with micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- 1+ year operating and setting up CNC machines preferred, but not required — we will train.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
