Senior Reliability and Controls Maintenance Technician

At ATS, you’ll combine advanced troubleshooting with proactive reliability work to keep high-value assets running at their best.
What Your Day Looks Like
You’ll move seamlessly between rapid break-fix response and high-impact preventive work—bringing deep mechanical and electrical know-how to complex systems. One hour, you’re identifying root causes using infrared thermography or vibration analysis; the next, you’re fine-tuning control logic and solving hardware/software configuration issues. You’ll also:
- Program, analyze, and troubleshoot sophisticated control systems to resolve intricate software, hardware, and configuration challenges.
- Leverage predictive technologies—such as infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, power quality analysis, laser interferometry, ball bar, and vibration analysis—to assess equipment condition and drive proactive maintenance.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, using CI tools to capture process gains and measurable cost savings.
- Source parts and supplies; propose engineered alternatives to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.
- Independently execute maintenance tasks to industry standards, upholding 5S and strong housekeeping practices.
- Operate machining equipment (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools) to fabricate/repair components; perform welding when needed.
- Research new methods, tools, and technologies; document and recommend best practices for deployment across ATS sites.
- Contribute inputs for cost analyses on new equipment, rebuild proposals, savings opportunities, and innovative ideas.
- Maintain accurate records, review CMMS histories, and analyze trends to improve asset performance.
- Provide technical content for sales quotations and support time-and-materials (T&M) assignments.
- Coach and mentor less experienced technicians and, when assigned, act as project manager to drive results.
- Advance your expertise with on-the-job training and self-directed technical study.
- Model safety—follow all policies, instructions, and guidelines; maintain situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors or conditions.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree with a technical concentration and 7 years of related industry experience; or 10 years of related industry experience.
- Proficiency with predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, laser interferometer use), precision alignment, and care of process equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; able to diagnose issues, evaluate options, and execute repairs.
- Skilled with hand tools and specialized tools required for the trade.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Six Sigma experience preferred.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, you will regularly stand, walk, use hands/fingers, reach, climb (including ladders or lifts), balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces, and communicate verbally. Sitting occurs occasionally. You must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Close and color vision are used regularly. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather and risk of electrical shock may occur. Work typically takes place in a very loud factory environment where hazardous materials and greasy or slippery floors may be present.

Pay Range: $102,970 - $131,689.52 USD
