Why this role matters
At our Plattsburgh, NY facility, you’ll be the go‑to expert ensuring our thermoforming lines run safely and continuously. From AC/DC drive tuning to PLC logic troubleshooting and thermal system stabilization, your work keeps production on pace and teammates safe.
What success looks like
- 90 days in: You’re confidently executing PMs, closing precise work orders in Maintenance Connection, and partnering with operators to prevent downtime.
- 6 months in: You’ve led a performance upgrade on a former or extruder and improved a safety or quality metric.
- 1 year in: You’re a key contributor on capital upgrades, mentoring peers on PLC/drive diagnostics.
Core responsibilities
- Plan and perform electrical maintenance to uphold system integrity across thermoforming equipment.
- Rapidly diagnose and repair blenders, crystallizers, dryers, extruders, formers, trim presses, conveyors, and grinders.
- Resolve issues involving AC/DC motors and VFDs, PLC/PC control systems, heaters, thermocouples, temperature controllers, and safety circuits.
- Modify and upgrade equipment to enhance performance and reliability.
- Keep work orders accurate and timely; maintain safe, orderly work areas while following all safety rules and company policies.
Qualifications you’ll need
- High school diploma or equivalent; 2‑year Electro‑Mechanical technical degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance.
- Expertise in electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical/electrical blueprint reading; working knowledge of welding and fabrication.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting experience for both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of PLC and PC controls; preferred exposure to Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Omron.
- Personal tools and the ability to use them safely and effectively.
- Collaborative, communicative, detail‑oriented, organized; strong analytical, problem‑solving, project management, customer service, and judgment.
- Willingness to support overtime and off‑shift needs.
Schedule & Compensation
- $34.66/hour
- 2‑2‑3 schedule
- 12‑hour day shift: 6:00am–6:00pm
