Senior Solutions Specialist-

Our client is seeking a Senior Solutions Specialist, based in the New York office. The Specialist will work to support the design, development, implementation and integration of practice innovation through technology. This position works within the Information Systems team, and is dedicated to supporting the Legal Project Management & Innovation team's initiatives and projects. The Legal Project Management & Innovation team works with Firm stakeholders to surface ideas to transform and optimize our business. Those ideas are then developed into processes and products that deliver enriched and customized client service delivery and solutions. The focus of this position is on designing, developing, and implementing technology that enhances our legal service delivery and supporting meaningful innovation to keep pace with our business and the client markets we serve. This role reports to the Associate Director of Solutions Development.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Master third-party software applications/tools and act as subject matter expert and main point of contact for those tools, understanding available features and functionality and familiarizing with new enhancements as they become available

  • Support all current applications utilized by the LPM & Innovation teams, as well as participating in new application initiatives to replace older applications with newer technologies

  • Ensure application/tool requirements are well-defined, as certain projected timelines depend on this, while also executingdevelopment and testing efforts to ensure compliance with project goals and firm policies

  • Convert application/tool requirements into wireframe or decision tree designs

  • Implement solutions that address business technology problems and opportunities with a focus on collaboration platforms

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive business process knowledge of in-house developed applications, vendor hosted, and group systems

  • Participate in a collaborative design and solution delivery environment

  • Perform administrative duties within application systems, including adding and removing users, managing security, migrating data, and scheduling interfaces and reports

  • Partner with technical team members and business functions to facilitate solution delivery and issue resolution

  • Perform troubleshooting and resolution of end-user and application software issues

  • In conjunction with the LPM & Innovation teams, validate that user experience meets requirements

  • Act as liaison to external vendors in connection with application features and usage

  • Attend LPM & Innovation team meetings to collaborate with team and learn relevant business processes

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology or related area

  • 5+ years of experience in systems analysis and application program development; Law firm experience highly desirable

  • Exceptional project planning and management skills. Has a complete understanding of the software development life cycle, application test plans and associated quality assurance activities

  • Strong professional and interpersonal skills including: exceptional customer service, creative problem solving, intellectual curiosity, effective written and verbal communications, ability to coordinate across functional teams, acute attention to detail and quality, driven with the ability to self-manage, and a team player

  • Ability to multitask across projects/initiatives and deliver according to time and cost commitments

  • Understand the connections and relationships across functions and entities for both internal and external constituencies with the ability to think appropriately into the future

  • Familiarity with RDBMS designs with MS SQL Server and ability to review queries and stored procedures

  • Experience in delivering solutions to improve and automate critical business processes

  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities

  • Programming and customization experience with SharePoint, HighQ, Neota Logic, and data analytics & visualization platforms are a plus
