Utility Construction Supervisor

  • Blackwell, OK
  • 45 - 50 USD Hourly

About the role:

Will start in Oklahoma but will support projects across multiple states and per diem is available at GSA Rate.

We are looking for a Construction Supervisor to serve as our on‑site representative across energy infrastructure and pre‑construction routing projects in multiple locations. You will travel to multiple project locations, with GSA‑rate per diem provided, and you will report directly to the Site Superintendent.

You will blend field construction management with technical support for early‑stage project development. This includes overseeing daily field activities, ensuring contractor adherence to safety and construction standards, and supporting route development for major energy projects—including gen‑tie and utility‑scale infrastructure. Responsibilities also involve reviewing technical documents, conducting field visits, refining routing criteria, and supporting permitting‑critical decisions.

You will be an important link between engineering teams, contractors, project managers, and site leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the on‑site company representative, supervising third‑party contractors and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, electrical, LOTO, and corporate construction standards.
  • Oversee installation activities including conduit, cable installation, testing, splicing, underground locate, foundations, and related electrical work.
  • Maintain an on‑site safety presence and ensure protection of personnel and equipment.
  • Create daily logs, take progress photos, document issues, and report updates to site leadership.
  • Review plant design criteria, engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Support route development for gen‑tie and infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct field visits to verify routing assumptions and pre‑construction readiness.
  • Apply value‑engineering concepts to improve routing for cost, permitting, environmental constraints, and construction feasibility.
  • Evaluate routing risks and tradeoffs in collaboration with Engineering, Environmental Services, Legal, Development, and Land teams.
  • Review backlogs in Unifier, and planning tools to support early‑stage project estimating and planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, daily reports, and field records.
  • Provide oversight of contractor work performance and adherence to project specifications.
  • Support change‑management and continuous improvement projects across the estimating and pre‑construction functions.

Qualifications:

  • 6–10 years of experience supporting construction, energy, utility, or infrastructure projects.
  • Field management or construction oversight experience on electrical projects.
  • Understanding of routing criteria, value engineering, and permitting‑related considerations.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, route maps, specs, and construction documents.
  • Knowledge of LOTO, OSHA standards, and field safety protocols.
  • 5+ years of experience reviewing contracts or technical requirements for construction work.
  • Military electrical or engineering experience (e.g., Navy) is a plus.
  • Able and willing to travel to sites across the U.S. for extended assignments.
