Role: PLC Controls Maintenance Electrician (Temple, TX)
On our night shift, you’ll diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues on PLC-controlled printing and packaging equipment using a laptop, instrumentation, and your deep understanding of AC/DC drives, 480V 3-phase power, and industrial controls.

A night in the life
- Start by logging into the maintenance system to review/close out work orders and prioritize electrical repairs.
- Pinpoint faults using meters and analyzers, guided by manuals, drawings, and schematics.
- Execute corrective and preventive maintenance on equipment and plant electrical circuits.
- Tackle general maintenance and mechanical repairs as needed to restore uptime.
- Install and terminate power and control wiring between machines per blueprints and diagrams using proper tools and test equipment.
- Land conductors on breakers, transformers, and other components across both low and high voltage systems.
- Diagnose and replace defective components or wiring on transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures.
- Operate power construction tools, precision measuring devices, power tools, and electrical test equipment safely and effectively.
- Inspect systems and components to identify hazards or defects and verify compliance with electrical and building codes.
- Create field sketches or follow blueprints to plan routing and placement of wiring/equipment to meet safety codes.
- Install conduit systems and pull conductors to specification.
- Systematically troubleshoot equipment to root cause and make permanent corrective repairs.
- Work at heights from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, and repair wiring and machines.
- Advise leadership when continued operation presents a hazard and recommend safe alternatives.
What you bring
- High school diploma/GED required; Associate’s in Maintenance or Industrial Technology preferred.
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven hands-on capability across electrical and mechanical tasks; exposure to welding, tool-and-die, and powered industrial trucks; ability to provide or promptly obtain required tools.
- Fluency in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Skilled at reading and interpreting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic blueprints/schematics.
- Electrical systems: AC and DC motors/drives, 480V three-phase, transformers, control power, and relays.
- Electronic/controls: industrial controls, ladder logic, PLC programming; C programming experience is a plus.
- Comfort using a laptop to troubleshoot PLC-controlled printing and packaging equipment.
- Able to stand for an 8-hour period and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Consistent use of required PPE and adherence to all safety procedures.
- Strong communicator who can work independently and as part of a cross-functional team; demonstrated leadership traits.
- Understands and complies with Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements.
