Industrial Materials Handler & Shop Assistant

Role summary

Join our team in De Pere, WI and help keep production running smoothly. In this hands-on role, you’ll support daily shop operations, ensure materials and tools are organized, and assist skilled trades with part finishing and movement.

Key responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain tools, materials, and work areas to optimize workflow.
  • Assist experienced shop personnel on active jobs and in-process tasks.
  • Deburr and clean completed parts to meet quality standards.
  • Support inventory control by restocking and tracking supplies.
  • Handle shipping/receiving, including loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Move and stage materials with pallet jacks, forklifts, and an overhead crane.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
  • Perform additional shop duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Dependable team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Detail-oriented; able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic mechanical ability; comfortable with hand tools and tape measure reading.
  • Experience in a shop or warehouse is beneficial.
  • Exposure to shipping/receiving, material handling, and vehicle loading/unloading.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects and performing physical work throughout the day.

Equipment you’ll operate

  • Pallet jack, forklifts, overhead crane
  • Power tools, band saw, belt sander
