Industrial Tooling Route Logistics Driver

Picture your day starting at 6:00 a.m. You review your route, load precision tooling and service products into a well-maintained company cargo van, and head out to visit machine shops and service centers across the region. By mid-morning, you’re checking in with the Service Center Manager to verify a freight transfer window, then touching base with the Regional Sales Representative about a customer’s scheduling change. Every stop matters—on-time, accurate, and professional delivery keeps our customers’ operations moving.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate a company cargo van safely and efficiently to complete planned delivery and pickup routes.
  • Deliver tooling and related service products with accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with machine shop customers through proactive, clear communication on deliveries, timing, and updates.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities closely with the Service Center Manager and Regional Sales Representative.
  • Continuously improve route efficiency, time management, and delivery scheduling.
  • Transfer and coordinate freight between service centers; verify and process freight settlement documentation with precision.
  • Assist in tracking transportation performance, carrier alignment, and delivery costs.
  • Comply with company safety policies, DOT requirements, and safe driving standards; keep the assigned service vehicle clean and in good working order.
  • Ensure all delivery paperwork and digital records are complete and accurate.

Supervision

No supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Primarily road-based from a company service vehicle with frequent visits to industrial and manufacturing settings, including machine shops and service centers.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly talk, hear, stand, walk, and use hands and arms.
  • Frequently lift, load, and unload products and equipment; lift/move up to 75 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Schedule & Travel

  • Full-time role.
  • Core hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., with flexibility as customer needs require.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Travel is 100% during the workday; regional focus with 1–2 overnight stays per month.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three (3)+ years of experience preferred in delivery driving, transportation, logistics, or customer service within manufacturing, industrial, or service environments.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience with cargo vans or light commercial vehicles preferred.
  • Outstanding customer service, communication, and organizational skills; able to work independently and manage daily routes efficiently.
