Industrial Mechatronics Maintenance Specialist

Grow with Ashley Furniture as an Industrial Mechatronics Maintenance Specialist

Picture a day where you start on the production floor, scanning a conveyor status light while a robot pauses mid-cycle. You trace the signal through a control panel, read a snippet of ladder logic, swap a VFD parameter to stabilize a motor, and then pivot to a hydraulic leak that you isolate and repair. By afternoon, you’re updating the CMMS, coordinating a planned downtime window with production, and buttoning up a preventive maintenance route so tomorrow’s run starts strong. If diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing complex systems sounds like your kind of day, you’ll feel right at home here.

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues on conveyors, automated machinery, CNC equipment, robotics, and material handling systems.
  • Troubleshoot using electrical schematics, PLC logic, mechanical drawings, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement durable fixes.
  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules: inspect, lubricate, adjust, and replace components to extend equipment life.
  • Work confidently on electrical systems from 120V to 480V including motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), sensors, relays, contactors, and control panels.
  • Service mechanical systems: hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, drives, and power transmission equipment.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and building automation systems.
  • Respond rapidly to emergency breakdowns to reduce downtime and restore production.
  • Document maintenance and repair history with accuracy in our CMMS.
  • Champion safety by following lockout/tagout, OSHA guidelines, and company safety standards.
  • Partner with production to schedule work during planned downtime and clearly communicate equipment status to leaders.
