You clock in, review the day’s work orders, and prioritize the tasks that keep our operation humming. A conveyor is tripping a sensor—time to trace the fault, verify PLC I/O status, and bring it back online. After that, you’ll move to scheduled preventive and predictive checks, inspecting motors and bearings, listening for changes in vibration, and verifying hydraulics and pneumatics pressures so we can avoid unplanned downtime.
Mid-shift, a production machine needs a changeover and a quick tune. You’ll reference blueprints, schematics, and manuals, confirm lockout/tagout is in place, and adjust the setup. Later, you’ll support a new equipment install, routing utilities and assisting with automation components to ensure a smooth startup.
Every resolved fault and every well-executed PM directly impacts uptime, quality, and throughput. If you thrive on hands-on problem-solving and take pride in precise, safe work, you’ll make an immediate difference here in Fort Wayne.
