Shape the future of flight from Kent, WA
Join our aerospace team and spend your days turning complex electrical systems into proven, flight-ready hardware. As a Launch Vehicle Electrical Systems Test Engineer, you’ll orchestrate end-to-end verification of electrical subsystems for orbital launch vehicles, applying your expertise in systems engineering, data acquisition, and Python automation to missions that advance human spaceflight.
A day in the role
Morning: review the integrated test schedule, align with mechanical, software, electrical, and systems peers, and finalize procedures for a hardware-in-the-loop run. Midday: bring up DAQ hardware you designed and configured, tune instrumentation, and launch automated Python routines to capture, process, and visualize live data. Afternoon: troubleshoot a signal integrity anomaly, distill findings into actionable recommendations for the design team, and archive test artifacts with meticulous documentation for upcoming reviews and audits. Evening: prep configurations for the next ground or flight test campaign to ensure quality and safety standards are met without compromise.
What you’ll do
- Own planning and execution of integrated system tests focused on electrical subsystems across our launch vehicles.
- Design, implement, and optimize measurement and DAQ architectures to deliver accurate, reliable test data.
- Develop and maintain Python-based automation for data capture, test execution, and post-processing analytics.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering to craft comprehensive test plans and procedures.
- Rapidly troubleshoot and resolve issues in electrical and DAQ systems during live testing.
- Analyze results, document insights, and recommend design improvements that elevate performance and reliability.
- Support both ground and flight-testing campaigns while upholding program safety and quality requirements.
- Maintain rigorous records of setups, procedures, and results to support reviews and formal audits.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years in electrical test engineering, ideally in aerospace or a closely related field.
- Hands-on expertise with DAQ, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Proficiency in Python for automation, data handling, and scripting.
- Depth in system-level testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
- Proven success working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Exceptional analytical thinking, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Kent, WA.
